More progress over the weekend. You can see the bottom corner taking shape. The door will be in the middle of the back wall and will hinge upwards with an angle in the middle of it. It will make an awning of sorts once done.

Some cool looking stuff there JavaJoe. With the company of old English clasics like the Rolls and what I think is an E type, I am sure you are just going to have to show them up with your amazing fabrication skills. I like the look of what you have done so far and I think the idea of using aluminum for your structural shell is awesome. More progress to show. I have the basic shape of the whole box done. I have to order some more tubing this week. Here are some pics with the roof propped up to the height it will go to once I am finished.

A bit more progress. Ran out of tube again so I just ordered more. These pics show the camper in the open position and I am starting to build the inner structure that the roof structure will nest over. Next I will be on to the lift mechanism, windows, then skinning the frame on the outside.

The lower structure is mostly done at this point. Plenty of welding to do still. On to completing the top structure.

Here is the top section in place, in the closed position. I should have most of it's structure done this weekend. Pretty soon it will be time to start skinning the outside.
