Depends on timeframe
- Land Rover was the agricultural vehicle for Britain and the world. International for the US. In the US your Scout dealer was the local farm and implement dealer. Same in Britain. I view International and Land Rover as similar manufacturers. When I went looking for a replacement for my Scout II, only the Discovery I could match it. All others were pretenders.
- Range Rover and Scout also initiated the SUV market, seeing the need for a more luxury family utility vehicle.
- Land Rover / Range Rover moved upscale. Unions killed International Scout. (Nationalization almost killed Land Rover)
- Today LR/RR is seen as the premium SUV/Off Road vehicle
