Dunno if you're wanting opinions on the height's capabilities or are wondering how big of a tire you can fit, but if it's the second I find this calculator to be extremely handy.

Sorry, I should have clarified. I geuss I'm more concerned with the benefits of one tire size over the other more than anything else, and if anyone has any experience they could sway me one way or the other. I'm fairly certain with the truck leveled and the high clearance front bumper I can fit 35"s with little to no rubbing or further trimming.

I'll have to play around with that calculator, that looks really useful. Thank you!

I bought the truck with 12,000 on the odometer.The dealer had robed some custom wheels of it and put some light duty tires on 17" rims.I drove it for a few months running my odo up.When I switched to the stock size KO it definitely took a little umph away from my 5.4 .Just food for thought.

What size tire does your truck call for?Maybe because it is the 4.6 it runs smaller tires?

Yeah I am a little worried about the power loss, it might make a regear necessary but I plan to run it like it is for now. I believe the stock tire size is 255 something 17, so I'm just slightly over that now.

Thanks man, I've been tracking your build for a while. I'm glad you decided to keep yours. Your setup makes me seriously consider a bed rack and a RTT. Maybe in the future.

Snagged the programmer the other day and it is currently shipping. I was going to wait a little longer but I found a deal on eBay that I just couldn't pass up.

I'm debating using it as is on the truck, running the transmission setting only and using it to update the tire size, or having some custom calibrations sent and loaded in

I went with the Edge Evolution. It's a slightly older programmer but after a lot of research it seems to produce the most reliable results for my engine generation and still has a lot of aftermarket support. I won't be able to utilize any of the other tunes due to having an aftermarket intake or I run the risk of leaning out and having detonation issues. But it will be valuable for correcting the tire size, adjusting shift firmness, and it's monitoring and diagnostic capabilities.

That was the plan, I was going to email him soon and see what he can do for me. I have to decide if I'm keeping my current exhaust though. I'm not sure if he would have to take the whole unit in and do some tweaking or if he could email me the files.

I would love to go or meet up but it's going to have to wait until I get back to the States haha. I'm on deployment for a bit now.

Well I am still on deployment but I decided to start throwing down the money on parts so I'll have a good start when I get back. I pretty much plan to start working on everything the day I manage to get back to Pennsylvania. Maybe the day after.

For the boring replacement part stuff:
- New lower ball joints from Moog (http://goo.gl/1fkQ68)
- New Polyurethane lower control arm bushings from Energy Suspension (http://goo.gl/PvpN7H)
- New ACCEL coil packs (http://goo.gl/Y3kg4m)
- New Motorcraft spark plugs (http://goo.gl/wgYANZ)
- 14 quarts of Royal Purple Max ATF
- Fram Transmission filter kit

The truck is in the shop as I type this getting everything installed. I would have loved to tackle all of this stuff myself, but I really wanted to have the front end refreshed before I stuffed the new suspension under it, as well as get the rest of the stuff done before I make the trek back to California. With the shop access I have in PA (little to none) that long list was just not going to happen. So I decided to have the shop do all the glamorous replacements, which will allow me to tackle the "fun" stuff like wheels, tires, suspension, and the rear bumper swingaway.

I also placed the order for my new wheels and suspension. I am currently debating ordering tires online vs. sourcing them locally. It really comes down to price for me, Amazon has an offer for free shipping on the BFG AT KO2 in 34x10.5x17 so unless I can find a shop that can give me a better price I will just get them there.

Between the wheels, suspension, and new lug nuts, that is by far the most money I have ever dropped at one time on the old girl. She better appreciate it haha. I'm stoked to get back now and start throwing parts on.

Thanks! I am really looking forward to getting back and installing all the parts. I have had the ICON kit on my wishlist for a while now and I am so stoked to finally be able to drop the cash on it. I have been fairly pleased with the Hell Bent Steel leveling kit I have on it now, but the suspension has been showing it's age and the 170k miles recently. I'm interested to see how the ride quality improves both on and off the pavement.
