EX ADF canters

hey folks.
Is there anyone out there with the ex ADF canters, that has disconnected the reduced lighting switches?

Was it a trial or is there any secrets?

The main one i want to disconnect is the one with reduce/normal/blackout switch as its not really legal to drive off a night with the lights off, even though the ADF train people to do it.

A few guys have tried to disconnect the blackout wiring in Perentie Land Rovers. In general they have gotten themselves into a world of pain as they ended up with unpredictable results and unintended consequences e.g. Other non- lighting circuits affected.
If you want to disable the blackout lighting, just remove the knob from the control, remove the lights and tape up the cables ouT of harms way.

That was similar to my first thoughts, i was hoping there was a cleaner way of doing it.
