I got most of the camper shell sanded and ready for paint. I'm hoping to have it painted by tomorrow or the next day.

I've got some legit clamps in the mail and I still have to buy a new lock handle, and door struts.

Love the truck! But I might be a bit partial? (See two of my many OBS Fords below). The pic of your girls with the ducks is awesome. The trees and fog are super cool!

I got the top painted. Just used Rustoleum gloss white. First time around I used a Wagner electric airless paint sprayer which was a horrible idea. It used a lot of paint and would randomly squirt out a stream of paint which caused a lot of runs. It took a half gallon and didn't even get one whole coat on it. I sanded the runs out best I could in the time I had. I went and bought an HF paint gun and it did a lot better and used a maybe half of a quart of paint. In the end its no high end paint job but its better than a rattle can job.

A little impromptu, but it worked great. I have to get a smaller tool box too.

I'm digging this truck pretty hard as I am about to begin a build with almost that exact purpose; a base camp and tow rig for hauling my crawler around. I'll be starting with a 92 F350 CCLB with a 7.3idi, soon to be turbo'd. I think it has that EXACT same topper on it. It's a sort of heirloom truck from a family friend, I ask the following questions because I have yet to go pick it up from its current owner to answer them myself

Is your plan to construct your sleep platform so that you sleep accross the width of the truck instead of along the length? How tall are you and will this be enough room? I like the idea as it would create a ton of space under the cap for activities, but at 6'3" it may not be doable. Keep the pics coming!!

I'm 6'2 265lbs, so I got to sleep length wise. The plan is shelves/compartments that go over the wheel humps that run lengthwise, the Mrs and I will sleep in between those. I wanna make a platform that runs width wise and sits on top of the rails for my kids(9&7) to sleep on, which will be rare because they never wanna come with me.

That's what I figured. Thanks! A window unit paired with one of those tiny honda generators would be perfect!

I don't know why but most of my pics are not showing. I'll have to see if I can fix that. Anyways, small update. I'm a busy guy, so this is a sloooooowwwwww thread, lol.
