Its pretty simple actually. Do you have the latest update? The developer is constantly making improvements and if you're having any problems, you can email him directly. Either he'll direct you to a tutorial or FAQ page, or he'll fix whatever issue you're having. I just played around with it.

What kind of problems are you having with it?

I downloaded the latest version and it's much more intuitive to download maps and use offline. It's super slow on my little 8" ASUS, but probably totally workable for the function. I don't have any trips ocming up, but I'm looking forward to downloading/saving GPX tracks.
