Cheapest 16" Tire Relative to Diameter

Has anyone looked at what the cheapest 16" tire size is relative to the overall diameter?

For example, a $100 - 31" diameter tire is $3.22 dollars per inch of diameter.

A $150 - 33" tire is $4.54 per inch of diameter.

Eldorado HIFLY AT601 LT235/85R16 (31.7") at $101/ea is 3.19 dollar per inch.

I can find Cooper Discoverer AT3 33x12.50 for $143/ea which is 4.33 dollar per inch.

Has anyone seen a 33" tire cheaper than $135? (other than used).

asbergers?

Tire terrain types, brand preferences and reviews, local or brand discounts. Way too many factors to use your reductive formula. It's meaningless.

Girth is just as important as length. Or so I've been told. :)

I shop for groceries this way but not tires.

Until now. Now I'll have to do this math.

Thanks dude...

When they run the $70 rebate, Cooper AT3's in either 235/85R16 or 265/75R16 are fairly good bang for the buck. Fairly cheap in their size bracket, and much less than a 285 or 33" tire. The ATP that's sold only through Discount tire is also usually a good deal, again, when they're running the rebate.
Prices via discounttiredirect and assuming you wait for the $70 rebate that comes around twice a year... (It ended on 7/15)
235/85R16 AT3: 3.29/in
265/75R16 AT3: 3.89/in
265/75R16 ATP: 3.94/in

If you can find a local distributor that carries Hercules tires (Cooper off brand) I highly recommend also checking into the Terra Trac II. I have a set that I got for CHEAP locally, and they are proving themselves an awesome tire.

^^^normally I completely agree, but in the case of the Hersules, I have to say :victory: I do not own them, but one of the rigs I just ran Moab with did and he cruised up escalator with nearly no tire spin. They have uber tough sidewalls, which usually means they wouldn't flex well, but I observed plenty of squish in the Hercules. Brian was running 35" on a JKUR and I must say I was very impressed especially at their "discount" price.

VanDOOM!
The Hercules tires are pretty good. Most are made in the US by Cooper. Some have 3 ply sidewalls. I was going with those before I got such a killer deal on my Cooper ST-Maxx.

The concept of this thread sorta made me think this is the process used when Ford bought tires for them!
