FWC Fleet light switch location

Quick question. I picked up an 87 fleet and was converting the lights to LED. The rear porch light was broken and when I replaced it I installed a light with a on and off switch located at the bottom of the light case. Does anyone know if the original had a switch on the inside? I have found a few locations that one might have been, but wondering if I have a short somewhere as the wires to the outside is showing no voltage.

Many of the old FWC's had a light switch just inside the door, on the inside/rear wall of the camper to turn the porch light on.
