Pot Set

The Stansport look thin from the pictures. Probably have a thicken bottom only, which I find poor for cooking on a flame you can't perfectly control. Better to have stainless/aluminium/stainless layers that are heavy throughout.

Im GONNA eat. one way or another. my fat kid has an inner fatter kid. ive been using a 10in elcheapo for years and still been eating.

Did I show you exactly what I'm using these days?

12" GSI hard annodized Dutch Oven: http://www.amazon.com/GSI-Outdoor-Hard-Anodized-Dutch/dp/B0018BK7RQ
Nesting neatly inside that lives a 10" Banks Frybake: http://store.nols.edu/Store/pc/Fry-Bake-Pan-p42.htm#.Vd4Oh5dJe6U
That gives me two Dutch Ovens ---- but one is also a big pot and the other is also a frying pan.
And to supplement the two, I have this silly Walmart ceramic frying pan with the folding handle. It actually makes the best hashbrowns ever... http://www.walmart.com/ip/As-Seen-on-TV-Slip-Stone-10-Pan/39263697
And the teapot: http://www.amazon.com/Primus-P-731701-LiTech-Coffee-Tea/dp/B00EE67536 We really use the teapot often. Paired with a good thermos, they get you through the worst weather.

I'm doing the research right now and leaning towards the "Buy once, cry once" approach and getting the Magma. I'm 31 and I have a lot of camp cooking ahead of me.

Magma is a good choice

Mo and I both enjoy camp cooking and have upgraded to Magma. It has been great and we are very happy with it. We have upgraded ours to include the new steamer/strainer that fits in the largest pot and the wok. This set is more expensive than our set at home but nests nicely, travels well and cooks great.

I want a decent quality pot set to go with my fullsize stove.

Since upgrading to a trailer my kitchen is expanding. Ive went from a solo opreation backpacking stove to a fullsize coleman stove and am quite happy with how it cooks but i need some good pans for it. Any suggestions?
I like the magma set but that is a chunk of change.

Historically I used a mix of lightweight stainless and cast iron. I recently received the ceramic magma and so far am very happy. Nothing sticks, it heats up very efficiently, and I am still surprised by the weight. I wrote the company and was told they have not been tested for campfire cooking so I consider them stove only, perhaps small live fire , but again they need very little heat to cook.

Will still take cast with me but these will replace a lot of odds and ends.

Found Magma under the tree today. I've got an awesome wife... Who seems to like getting fed...

I'm already guessing that 3 sauce pans is going to be too many, and I'm wondering if anyone can suggest a small kettle that might fit in the middle in place of the smallest sauce pan?

I'm also impressed by the weight. Definitely not light duty!

Tefal "ingenio" are great as the handles detach and allow the pots to stack inside each other, can be used on all cooking surfaces including inductive.

I can when I get back to the house in a few days. I think I found my coffee answer too... right now I'm waiting on an MSR Alpine Tea Kettle and a Kalita Wave brewer. They should nest inside each other and in the pot set!
