Post up your M416 Tailgates please

I just searched and dug through 10 different M416 builds and I can't find the specific tailgate pictures that I am looking for.

I would like to do something similar to a Landcruiser tailgate.....hinged bottom and chains to hold in up so I can sit on it, use as a table, etc.......

Please post up pics of how you did your tailgate.

I used aluminum diamond plate & made my to hinge with the side opening

Here is the one Bubba did that was then fixed by the former owner before me. It has been redone and squared the proper way. This is the first M416 with a cut out tailgate that I have owned so I don't know more else than what I have. I was hoping someone might be able to help me as well with tailgate chains or cable to keep it level while opened.

See link in my trailer build thread. I'm just seeing that there are few key pics missing, so will try to fix that, but you'll get the idea. Basically, use a tailgate cable kit.

If I were to do it again, I'd figure out some way to not have the mounting points protruding into the tub - maybe inset them into the space between the tailgate and tub in some-way-I-never-figured-out-before... ;-)

This was a fun project..
Some bits from a Hilux, plus a weld machine & semi counterfeit trailer resulted !
Too bad this trailer was stolen from my equipment yard a couple years past.
So if you happen to see it, You know what to do !!
