Quite a bit done this week...

Gave up about 7 after I kept breaking needles...gonna get some more tomorrow when im out.

So far the shell is 90% done..no seams to leak in the top..plenty of overhang to keep rain out...just gotta put smaller foot vents in near bunk window similar to the nemo...

Wonder if AT will take my idea and ditch the zippers that plagued the mark one design...velcro!!!

Trying a different take on the prop rod..the kids threw this fiberglass hoop out and I figured it would be nice if I could lift the rain flap higher for more light and airflow..

Gotta build the screened end that gets uncovered by pull cords like curtains.

And cut the big side windows at the top and stitch on the upper velcro

Also gotta stitch in support frame sleeves and attachment to mount fabric..probably get tubing Tuesday for the frame..

Then a hand full of mesh pockets for around the inside..we use carabiners now and some pockets for phones and glasses and EARPLUGS....dang campgrounds get noisy..

I'm excited for the bigger windows and the view from the bunk..this design has about 3 times the ventilation and much better views!!!

Still working on it tonight...main and front frames bent and installed..actually reusing main hoop..

Its all lining up AWSOME!! Skirt is plenty long and my measurements were DEAD on!! Whoop!!

Gonna have plenty overhang for rain protection on the windows and the frame..no more waking up with wet mattresses!!

Initial over old frame.

Frames done...gotta tweek middle bar its jaming the works when closing without the tent on..

In other news the tent is stitched so well that even with it laying on the frame and not secured at all I had a heck of a time getting it off!!!!

This end will be 3 sided screen when the primary fabric is pulled up like the nemo..

Inside...no more ducking on truck and near window and there is 30in of headroom in the bunk end so we can sleep right next to the big window..side vents still need screened and cut in..side windows cut once tension cords and frame were right..

Also got rained on...and even not secured down it was water tight!! And I still have to seam seal it!!!

Final test fit!!! Its like a palace of Windows compared to the old one..you can feel it draft cool air from the open truck cap window!! Can't wait to get her parked beachside and lay in the bunk and have an almost 360* view!!! So excited!!!!

Its on!!! Lifting mechanism for screen porch works perfect!!!

Measurements were all SPOT ON!!...nice and tight..

The draw cord that pulls the rain/wind skirt works amazingly well!!

The rest of the night is seam sealing (actually not a lot of seams actually...I have no overhead seams and the center section is continuous from front to back and overhangs side panels by a minimum of 3in...)..took about an hour...and 3 tubes of seam sealer thats specific for sinylon material...

Tomorrow....permethrin!!

Yep!! I'm in love with the design..even more so after actually being inside and feeling it draw a natural draft!!

She's all seam sealed..2.5 tubes..

Got it treated with permethrin today...a 24oz bottle let me soak the entire thing 3 times...I would spray till it beaded up (almost instant because of the material)..let it absorb...then spray again...all in shade of the house...

Im pretty confident its treated thoroughly...and it DID NOT affect the material at all...no stains no warp age once dry..

I’m only about 70 or so miles away from you (Bellbrook, Ohio close to Xenia). I also have a Flip Pac build of sorts. I’ll be watching this closely as my tent had a battle with field mice and lost. Been looking for options for a new tent ideas as Flip Pac is out of business!

I read every page of your build years ago when I got a scamper pop up truck camper!!

Builds pretty much done as I use it daily for contracting work..but I might end up building a slide in "pod" since my garage is almost useable..

Glad to see your still around!!
