hello there,

I just bought a HDJ80 which has no documents to go on the road (in Albania it is still possible to find this kind of cars) and I want to get the engine 4.2 turbodiesel and put it on my LJ78. Does anybody has any chassis blueprint for both versions so I will have a better idea on what i have to do. I will change the negine and gearbox, both differentials, front and rear axels, spring etc. Or another possibility is to exchange the chassis, so it will be chassis and everything underneeth hdj80 but the cabin lj78 (it will look lj78 from outside)

Please let me know what do you think about this experiment im about to start :)

I think it may be easier to put the body of the LJ on the chassis of the HDJ. The HDJ chassis is heavier built than the LJ, so it makes more sense to move body mounts (assuming the wheel bases of both are close?).

X2 Swap the LJ body on to the 80. Swapping axles is a lot of work as the suspension & linkage mounting points are almost all different between the LJ & the 80. Modifying the LJ sheetmetal to fit around the 80 stuff will be easier.

Cheers
