Some dude's been trying to sell his on here for $55k for about 5 years. That $89k asking price is laughable.

Impressive in-depth analysis. :)

There are some differences, the major one being that the one from Washington is supercharged. Most of the rest of the substantial list of farkles are bolt-on things that could be bought from the Quadratec catalog.

FWIW, that asking price is less than 60% of what Park Place initially listed it at. (As an XV-JP owner, I was going to be really, really excited if it had sold for the $160K.)

It's not really clear why Erwin's hasn't sold (though it's been for sale here for 20 months, not five years). As I've mentioned in other places, the underlying built-up Jeep is worth about $35K, so his entire EarthRoamer conversion is valued at about $20K, versus the $70K it originally cost when EarthRoamer did it. It's pretty easy to see where that much value is, and if you want a self-contained Jeep motorhome, one of the fourteen XV-JPs is pretty much the extent of your options. With only fourteen of them, though, there's no real market, so pricing for the ones that come up for sale will always involve a lot of guesswork. Just like rare autos, they'll be worth precisely what someone wants to pay for them at one particular point in time.

Really, there's differences? oh, I thought they were exactly the same identical vehicle (even the same VIN). I didn't know vehicles could be different.

Yes, you are right, it's priced fairly. Watch it sell it like hot cakes!
