The World and Moore Build Thread

After a few years in the FJ, we've set some new goals for our land travel adventures and with them we're changing vehicles.

The new setup for The World and Moore is a 2010 Toyota Tacoma TRD Off-Road with Four Wheel Camper. We still have the other half of the truck to complete (Four Wheel Camper, custom interior designed by Kim), but that's coming very soon.

The truck:

Thanks Adventurous! There is a small fender chop behind the front tires but not above. Testing the scrape frequency before deciding on further chopping. I can get photos if you're interested in details for your own etc.

Certainly! From everything I have read on Tacomaworld, you can't stuff a 35 without having wheels with 3.5" BS (to keep off frame at full lock), the cab mount chop, beating in the firewall or tubbing, and taking at least 2.5" out of the fender/flare. I'm curious to see how it works out for you if that is not the case.

And not to make this all just about the truck but awesome pictures! Gonna have to browse through them a bunch more after this weekend.

Adventurous, (btw, how were you able to get that username?! lol)

Here are some shots around the tires to show what is and isn't modded to fit the 35's underneath. Body mount chop with welded cover. Fender chop could be a bit more as I scuff when hitting bumps at higher speed but it hasn't bothered me enough to get me to cut them back any more. The front of the tire is obviously no problem with the new bumper. Sometimes I do wonder if/how 33's would drive a bit better but the 35's are pretty cool and the approach angle is legit. I'll measure those out soon.

I'm impressed it still gets 14.5 mpg haha. I think the regearing helped. 4.88

Let me know if different photos would help.

Oh and the Icons are set to only about half way and it's a variable 0"-3" lift so it's probably about 1.5"? Might try to change that for the next trip and see.

Had some rattling in the back so I added some door frame foam to the lockbox in the bed. Now it has to be pushed in to be able to engage the lock, which I prefer. Currently using this for straps and rope that get and stay dirty and may need without warning to support bed towing needs on the go.

We added part 2 of 2 in December, our Four Wheel Camper! Inside shots coming soon, we love it so far. Stopped by the Salt Flats on the way home from Woodland after the pickup. A few shots with the new setup below. Next up, Spare tire carrier with recovery accessories.

Looks great! Can't wait to see in the inside pictures!

Did you make any changes to the rear suspension after adding the FWC? Looks to still set level with the camper installed. Thanks!

In these photos above there is some sag before we added the airbags, which we have now. Sits perfectly level now, more photos soon with the bags. Waiting to post until the TireGate install is done 🏻

Interior Pics

Hey - did you ever get around to taking some interior pics? I'm contemplating picking up a swift shell - would love to see what you did on the inside of yours. Thanks!
