Back country navigator help

Just opted for the purchase of back country navigator and am playing around with it. while here at my desk i get maps for the entire country. When I leave the wifi area will that stop? then what? do i down load the ones I want. I am using a new lenovo a10-70 tablet went for a test run after loading some local maps purposely left a boundary between down loaded tiles an those not. Very interesting results. when zoomed in the boundary exists but when zoomed out it doesn't seem to at least locally.
so some questions here
1 how much of the cal topo maps can 32 gigs hold?
2 how do you control the scale of the maps( detail) when down loading?
3 What of the topo maps do you guys like?
4 Is the forest service just national parks or does it cover Blm and other fed lands

so far this this thing is pretty cool !!! but I am still learning

1). A lot! Cal Topo seems to have a small footprint
2). When you bring up the map, you select the area of the map you want to download.
Here is a list of YouTube videos that will give you a lot of help with all the functions:

3). I've only used Cal Topo and USFS so far. Of the two, I like USFS over Cal Topo for Plumas/Tahoe NF. For the Mojave Road Cal Topo seemed to work pretty well.
4). Good info on that question:

I'm still learning this as well as -relearning things. Hopefully others more familiar will chime in.
