The 1st 3rd | Lessons Learned by Land & Sea

Hey everyone,

A little over a year ago my girlfriend and I set off to drive my FJ60 from Florida to Patagonia- We failed. Not only did we not make it all the way down to Patagonia (we ran out of time at Macchu Picchu), but we also didn't make it all in the Land Cruiser. (Colombia, Ecuador and Peru were all by motorcycle) After heading home, regrouping, heading to sea (we're both merchant mariners) and making it back in one piece, we're back at it again.

In true Ian and Maggy fashion, plans are still up in the air. At this point, we've purchased our rig (big thanks to @FJSpartan) and are currently driving her cross country from her original home in Idaho to the Sunshine State. Once in FL, we'll have a little less than a month to make some final changes and build out the interior a bit for storage, water, etc. before heading out to sea for another two month hitch. Meanwhile, we'll have the truck shipped overseas (South Africa or Europe) so that it's there waiting for us when we sign off our ships.

We've been keeping a blog of our Pan-American travels over here at www.the1st3rd.com and are planning on continuing on with it for our current/ upcoming travels.

& we started an Instagram account that we post a little more frequently @the1st3rd

In the meantime, enjoy some starter pictures!
