95C1500 Intro and Build Thread

Hey guys. I'm Scott. I have a passion for cars, trucks, lifted, lowered, dragster, drift, ford, chevy, dodge, toyota, nissan. I like just about everything. I've always had a soft spot for trucks though. I inherited this 1995 Chevrolet c1500 Silverado in 2012 when my grandfather passed away. It only had 71,000 miles on it and as it sits in my driveway right now, it has 113,000 miles on it. Yes it's a 2wd but that doesn't mean I don't have the same passion for camping/offroading/being outdoors as the rest of you. Hopefully that's good enough for you to accept me. Enough of the intro because no one really cares about that haha.

The Truck:
1995
Chevrolet
C1500
Silverado
2" Rough Country Lift
32" BFG AT's
Dodge Tow Mirrors
Cobra CB Radio

I love camping, fishing, hiking, biking, offroading, anything like that, but in the DFW area, there's not much (that I've found anyways) of anything as far as taking the beaten path around here. That's why the only camping I've done is at a state park and in Arkansas.

I look forward to meeting you guys and discussing build ideas and offroad pictures.

It says I can't post links? So I can't post pictures. I'm not going to attach all of them so I'll just have to figure out how to post pictures

You don't need 4wd to get outdoors and just have fun, a bit of common sense will get you into a lot of fun places but don't get yourself into trouble, especially with it being such a nice truck. See if your local dept of natural resources has a forest service map, those are a huge asset for learning your local areas. As for the link restriction, they have had a lot of spam lately and have a 10 post minimum before you can post links. I would be interested in the details on those mirrors, I have a 95 k2500 diesel that still has the factory mirrors, they work okay but have thought about upgrading.

As soon as I get 10 posts I'll post a lot of pictures of my offroading adventures. Although they mainly consist of dirt roads, it was still a blast.

As for the Dodge mirrors

I bouht the power heated ones off ebay, cut/ground down the metal base, trimmed/molded some of the plastic base, drilled new holes in the door, and spliced the stock mirror connector onto the dodge mirror. It's a little tricky (the wiring) because gm uses 4 wires and dodge uses 3 wires for their mirrors

I like it! Welcome....

Ive been thinking of another GMT400 2wd, its been awhile but they are a blast. Next one for me will be reg cab short bed (again), or preferably a suburban.

My last one had 3" body lift, 2500 diesel suburban coils, 4" rough country spindles, home made shackle flip, 4.10 geared G80 8 lug 14 bolt semi floater and 36x13.5x16 IROK radials. At one point I had borrowed some 38x12.5 TSL swampers.

And I had this one for awhile, all stock with 31x10.5 cooper stt's on the front and 31x12.5 bogglers on the back. Went lots of places.

Looks good with those stuffed tires. Have you considered lift spindles and rear blocks?

ordering them next week actually. I regret not going with the 4" spindles in the first place. Also should be getting my LED bars soon. That 24" burned out and I miss the light at night on back roads

Nice looking rig there 95. I am sure you will have a lot of fun with that ride even though its 2wd. Welcome to the site and thanks for posting pics. Cheers, Chilli...:)

Thanks for the warm welcome. I'll be doing a lot more exploring after I get the squeaky front end replaced and the lift kit on
