New all in one LifePO4 alternative to Goal Zero Yeti 400

Bionneo Power makes a portable LifePO4 battery power pack that seems is out to compete with the Goal Zero Yeti 400. The Bionneo Power 500 W-hr Power Pack (BPP-M500) comes with a 40AH LifePO4 battery were as the Goal Zero Yeti 400 comes with a 33AH lead acid battery and weighs 10lbs more. Both have a 300 watt pure sine wave inverter. the Bionneo Power one does cost around 160 more.

I do have the 10AH version with 100 watt modified inverter I purchased last year. I did have an issue with the first one they provided me as it would not hold a charge and the protecting BMS would shut it down. But once I called them they replaced it at no cost to me. Prior to purchasing I did ask them a ton of questions and response was very quick.

Sounds super weak sauce. 40ah and only 10lbs less?

I thought LifePO4 batteries were supposed to be 3x the power of lead acid?

So shouldn't it be a 100ah for roughly the same weight as a Goal 400?

yeti 400 has a 33ah battery that weighs 24lbs, 40ah of Prismatic LifePO4 weighs about 13lbs. Normalized for AH, lead would be roughly 30lbs for 40ah. Not quite 3x, but there is more casing and what not for Prismatics. 40ah can be made as light as about 9lbs with LifePO4 and that is 3x as dense. Remember that ~5lbs is non transferrable, so depending on the kind of LiFe cells they used, it could have been made roughly 5lbs lighter, but it would have been a more expensive battery pack.

400amp hours and 110lbs of weight, also cost the same as that thing above.

Nope, those are GBS cells. Winston's are Yellow.

The lithium cells available to the public are all manufactured in China. The biggest manufacturers are CALB, Sinopoly, Winston and GB Systems (GBS).

Some people have purchased factory direct. I tried but found the logistics too difficult. Caleb Power (CALB), Balqon (Winston) and Elite Power Solutions (GBS) are stocking US distributors.

I chose to go with GBS Cells and used Elite Power Solutions since they had a dealer in Yuma, AZ when I was there. Wanted to see the things and a setup in person. Elite however can ship cells. They come in various sizes. They also sell sense boards and BMS if needed for your application. It's not a fully enclosed system like those battery banks in a box, but I've been using mine since Nov to live on.

So are you running those lithium cells yet?

How are they to charge?

I imagine they need a specific charging profile?

Check out the electric vehicle building sites, like thunderstruck ev, and evolveelectrics.com, enerdel is a US manufacturer in Indiana. A 14 volt lithium ion pack at 93 ah is around 8 to 900. The charge acceptance rates are incredible. Another simple and warranted option is the 24 volt torqueedo pack and charger, 104 ah at 24 volts, and only 44 lbs.

Surprised the LiPo pack isn't substantially smaller and lighter. The Yeti's battery can be replaced in 15 minutes for less than $100. Can the LiPo battery be replaced?
