sun dolphin aruba 12ss and pelican alliance 136t kayaks

We are buying 3 kayaks this spring. Both available at Canadian tire. The are the sun dolphin aruba 12 ss and the pelican alliance 136t for when our son goes with us.

anyone have these boats and how are they?

we have 2 dolphin 8's

they dont have skegs so they dont track in a straight line...and it adds to how much you have to paddle to keep them straight...they are very prone to tipping...I wouldnt buy them again.

Do yourself a favor and visit a paddle shop.......the small cheap kayaks are just that. They are great for the kids on the beach.

If you are planning to spend time paddling you will hate the cheap kayaks after a few times out.

No paddling shops here. We are just trying these out to see. if we enjoy the sport, no doubt we will get better boats.

I just got my 10 year old a sun dolphin Aruba SS 8 foot at Wal-Mart for 148 bucks. It is stable. He isn't the best at paddling so I have no idea if it tracks straight.
