New Stove from Jetboil

I didn't have any dents but I do see wear marks. Wonder if I should call jet boil. Are the pots coated? If so than I should get them to replace mine since it's already worn ??

Mine has the dents as well and I let them know immediately about the issue with the packaging and that they would likely have some returns/issues with initial customers. Seems like they took that to heart! Good customer service and integration of feedback.

Looking forward to getting feedback after a season of useage from you that have it. I jut ponied up for a Partner Steel stove and couldn't be happier, however, for my family of 5 the packaging size of this one could be an advantage though I doubt I'll pony up the $350 for one. I'll wait unti they hit the second hand market. The fact that the pots and the stove can nest inside the cook box Pelican case would be a space saver for sure.

I checked the pot in mine and I didn't see any dents on the bottom. The inside has a couple of scuffs, so I put in a couple of paper towels to sit between the pot and the grill, but I'm not worried about it.

I will use the frying pan most the time, as my wife and I don't cook large meals while camping. Plus with the pan having the ceramic coating, that's the way to go! I have suggested to JetBoil to have more ceramic coated cookware.

Oh, and I have a two week camping trip later this summer so the JetBoil will get its use in. :chef:

I did some camping in Land Between the Lakes in Kentucky, and I put the JetBoil to good use. Wow! The ability to simmer foods is awesome! I make my traditional fried pizzas and with the old Coleman, I'd tended to burn the crust, but not this time! I make the pizzas like a pancake, where I cook the one side, then flip it, top it and slowly cook the second side until the cheese melts. Being able to put the Base Camp on low worked out great.

I also have to say how much we like the included frying pan. It's super easy to clean up, and again we'd like to see more similar pans. It's also nice that I don't have to use a hot pad since the pan's lid and handle do not get hot.

Christophe I was reading your article this morning, but have not finished it yet.
I really do not need one of these for camping as I use a Campchef Denalli stove, but this thing is just too cool not to own :D
I will probably get one later to also use for camping, and maybe put it in my emergency kit I keep in my rig if I get stuck somewhere.

This is a really cool looking unit.
I take it the coating is kind of like the ceramic coating in the Magma cookware?
That is what I use when camping, great non stick and heavy stainless steel

I think my review echoes what many of you have said thus far, but here it is:

http://expeditionportal.com/field-tested-jetboil-genesis-base-camp-system/

We're 10 days into an 18 day camping trip and the Genesis continues to be a great system. The non-stick pan ROCKS. One of the best camp skillets I've ever used.

No kidding... the skillet rocks! I told JetBoil to make more pans! I have a two week trip in a month from now that I'll further break mine in on.

The skillet is ceramic coated like Magma. I have a Magma set, which is nice, but the JetBoil skillet is lighter, and I like the handle better on the JetBoil. (Lighter and it folds around the pan when stored rather then comes off.)

Cool, I might just get the two pans.
I like the Magma set, but it would be nice to test this out too.
Also trying to lighten the load on my chuckbox as it is waaaaay overloaded.
But that that is from an 8 piece silverware set, and way to many dishes.
I need to trim it back just for the GF and me.

Anyone else have anything to say about this?

They aren't for sale here in Australia yet (and apparently won't be in the foreseeable future) but can be imported for about $500 AUD (seen some on eBay).

We just ordered the Jetboil System all in one for our camping trip to Hot Springs ,NC in 2 weeks, I also had a problem with spending that amount on a stove system with pots, but !!!
It just makes cooking and cleaning at camp a whole lot better. also what sold us was the temp controls.
I had a a back backing stove by GAZ, which you cannot get fuel for. Dumped it.!!
I think with the quality of the stove and how it all backs together it should last a long time !!!!
I will post after our use my thoughts.
