Gen 1 rear suspension, what is this for?

I was looking around the rear suspension and found this spot. What is it for? Is there supposed to be a rubber bushing there?

That is some safety piece to keep the body from flying off in case of an accident. 1989?

Basically if you want to do a body lift just remove it. Serves no purpose other than maybe keeping the body on in case of an accident? Although I don't think I've ever seen a car body fly off on an accident. Carmakers do weird things sometimes

It's only on the V-6 Gen 1's. It's not on the four cylinder trucks, so I really (also) don't know what the thinking is on that piece. There never was a bushing there as far as I know.

It's probly because of all the torque and hp, they didn't want the body falling off like a Wiley Coyote/Roadrunner comic.

My bolts are missing. Does anyone have them available for purchase?
