Earthcruiser 2017 build

G`day All

If we want to keep using A1 components and work with the very best people in a growing economy our production costs are going to rise.

Perhaps you have been thinking for awhile that an Earthcruiser is a good idea but the 2017 increase seems a bit much? It's ok we get it.

We can offer the 2016 fixed price for early 2017 builds, that means an EarthCruiser FX starting at $204,600 base price with the average out the door price well equipped at ~ $245,000.

For more info please get hold of Michelle or Aric.

To be clear 2016 builds are 100% spoken for.

Cheers

Thanks, good to know what the current pricing is - I'm always being asked about Fuso based overland vehicles for some reason...

The GZL is very cool! From the EarthCruiser web site listed above.

EC-GZL-1.jpg

Looking at the information online, the GZL is offered for Toyota Tacoma and Nissan Frontier. I think the GZL will fit in the Chevrolet Colorado's bed as well.

Looking at overall width, width at wheel wells, height of box, and width at box opening, the Colorado is an inch or two larger than the Tacoma. For example, width between the wheel wells for the Colorado is 44.4 inches, Tacoma 41.5 inches. Height of the box, 20.9 inches vs 19.1 inches. Width of the tailgate opening, 55.5 inches vs 53.4 inches.

The 4x4 crew cab Colorado comes from the factory with a 300+ lb payload advantage over the Tacoma, even when equipped with the 4 cylinder diesel engine that offers 369 ft lb of torque.

Speaking of that diesel engine, over at Fuelly.com, fuel economy for the Colorado diesel is around 24 mpg. The 2016 Tacoma with 3.5L V6 comes in at around 20 mpg. That's a 20% improvement using diesel, which is still less expensive that unleaded regular in most parts of the country. Of course, your mpg results may vary.

2015 Top Tep LEAST reliable cars:

#8: Chevy Colorado & GMC Canyon

Source: Consumer Reports Magazine

Data Set: 740,000 cars and trucks in the US and Canada

Conclusion: Buy a Toyota, preferably an older one, as the new ones are pretty ugly :D

Lance and Michelle,

Is there room to be inside the GZL with the roof closed? I'm thinking about stealth camping situations, or in severe weather when you'd prefer to close the roof. In badly-behaved bear country (which is most National Parks in the west), tent camping is often forbidden.

One advantage to a slide-in camper is that it can be removed when not camping. Modify a van for camping, and the changes are more permanent.
