USA company will build Land Cruisers for our special forces

Battelle Memorial Foundation has won a contract to upfit 500 Land Cruisers for our Special Forces. The mods include armor, run flat tires, military communications gear, and upgrades to brakes and suspension to carry the extra weight. The vehicles mostly will be 70 series SUV and pickups.

The goal is to allow special forces to blend in with local traffic while traveling in potentially hostile areas.

This isn't a new thing. My buddy works at A base that has hilux and armored land cruisers for the SEALS.

I live in columbus (home of Battelle), and someone keeps flatbeding 200 series cruisers past my work with the windows either out, or protective paper on them (like you would see on plexi). I was wondering what was going on! Now I have at least one logical explanation.
