Picked up an ICOM 2820H for my new mobile setup. Mounting pics coming soon. One question....I need a head unit extension cable...any ideas?

Not sure if you ICOM is the same... the remote on my ID5100 uses 6C6P "straight-through" cable to the remote head and 8C8P (RJ45) for the microphone. Both cables can be had at Amazon. Additionally a female to female RJ45 adapter is needed on the mic end. Hope that helps.

Thanks. The pins on the icom supplied cable has six pins. Will check it out. My Larsen 2/70B came in....time to install.

Decided to create a custom GoPro mount for my Icom head unit. Blocks the mirror, but my tire carrier already made the mirror useless.

I removed my rear view mirror long ago.

It can still be somewhat useful...i.e. watching my rascal of a dog in the backseat.

In other news...ARB air locker for the D30 is on order! Will replace front axle seals and install soon. I figure the front is a good place to start given the rear has a limited slip that well, still works! I bought the locker pump combo, so I can add the 44a locker after my next paycheck :bike_rider:

So, the DV trip means we need to haul some fuel. Been meaning to add this, but haven't had the need. Thanks to a member here, my AT Jerry holder is going in...

I decided to use a little angle iron to make a small shelf to help support the holder, which will also be bolted to the 2x2 tube steel.

...but should I paint it black?

Well, ARB locker is installed. Funny how things work...I thought the axle seal on the passenger side was toast. Turns out it was the passenger CV. So, I ended up buying two new axles, new pinion seal, and basically a new carrier and associated bearings. Basically refreshed by D30. I figure it will serve me well, as this is not a crawler, and will make some moderately tough obstacles all the more easier with the locker up front. Lucky I have a light foot!

Hoping so...I tend to be more strategic than relying on brute horsepower. Now I have figure where to mount the air compressor. Under the hood is looking like a no go. That leaves the cubby where the battery is, or the right rear cubby with the netting.

Love the way you have set up the jeep. Looks very capable. The Dana 30 will survive with a light foot.

Thumbs up!

This rig will be unstoppable!

OK...decided I needed a shovel and axe. Here is how I mounted them:

Also, decided to mount some LEDs on the hatch:
