    Default Good Digital Comcorder under $500???

    Hey guys....
    I was wondering if any of you know of or have experience with a great digitial camcorder for under $500??? I'm not to pickly..I want to make movies of the little one and of the wheeling trips!!!! I have a baby coming in August and wanted to get a jump on the shopping idea!!! Yes...I'm one of those guys taking all the footage of the babys birth!!!!..Its our first child and i am getting very pumped!!!

    Any of you have any recommdations on a great camcorder for under $500???

    I bought mine to long ago to be up on what's avaialble out there currently. If you go with a name brand like Sony or similar you really can't go to wrong. Do a search at some of the consumer review sites and see what they have to say about different brands and models. I have a Panasonic and it has worked well for me, even after I left it outside in the back yard while it was raining for several days. I just let it dry out and it still works fine.

    I would suggest getting one with a good optical zoom, I really don't care for the digital zoom concept.

    I love my panasonic. They have made huge strides in video at panasonic. really great stuff. I have a ton of video I have shot with it and the clarity of audio and video is superb.

    Ebay. I picked up a nice Canon ZR45 for $150. Works great and I can beat it up and not care.
