Built the bracket this morning out of 1 1/4" 1/8" thick flat bar. Notch is for the alignment tab on the factory bracket. Bottom hole is offset to allow proper slack side to side from the new higher location. Just waiting for the paint to dry (and cleaning up the garage from the lift instal.

Made some progress today before work (night shift). Got the sliders all bent and notched. Need to weld them up and design some mounting plates.

Built the plates for the top of the box rail that have stake pocket adapters that bolt through the factory holes. Tent rack will all be welded to these plates.

Built one more intermediate for each side and cleaned up all surfaces for welding. Also cleaned the shop/bench so there's somewhere to work.

Little more progress. Cut out the gusset plates, changed the vertical pieces along the sides for angled ones instead.

Finished up the main part of the rack. Ready for paint. Still need to make the removable cross brace but that's it for now. Get it painted and out of the way. Still working on the sliders today and hope to make the frame plates. Going to go a little heavy but will help give me peace of mind.

the cardboard represents the 1/8 aluminum steps that will be dimple died (upward) for traction and a little more "shape " to make it look better

Finished the outer frame plates for the sliders yesterday. Now just need to make the aluminum step pads, weld tabs to rivet those to, paint them and cut and drill inner mounting plates. The front 2 on each side are in a boxed area of frame so will need to be made of flat bar to reach with the nuts welded on.

Built the first "load bar" for the rack. Took a little refinement but very happy with how well it clamps and looks
