pictures, mounted
Here are two pictures of my 2.5-pound HalGuard fire extinguisher (as recommended earlier) mounted under the driver's seat in my truck.
The bottle is mounted lengthwise, parallel to the driver's door. It is held in place, very securely, with a Super Quick Fist clamp from Sierra Expeditions. I trimmed off the unneeded length of clamp. The installaton does not in any way hamper the seat movement. And it is protected from bumps as it is on the side of the seat, rather than in front. Also, it is easy to see as soon as you open the door. This could be useful to someone unfamiliar with the truck. According to the manufacturer, mounting it horizontally like this is no problem.
I'm very happy with the fire extinguisher. Thanks to all for the advice.
