A few pics of our 2009 Quadvan -- we just had the Sportsmobile pop-top added two weeks ago at SMB West in Fresno, CA. We camped our way back to Portland OR on a short 4 day trip

As we live in Portland OR, we are only 10 mins from Quadvans HQ -- many Quadvans in our region. We found our van in N. Washinton state being used as an electrical contracting truck; the van only had 15k miles on the clock and we got a very good deal.

Default From a trip a month before the last one

I took this trip to Weed, Ca last July 4th. I left on July 1st which was one month after I broke my back. It was so hot here in Tucson and it was depressing being in bed so I headed north to cooler weather. Spent July 4th in Redding, Ca. P7010435.jpg

Nice. You drove from Tucson to Weed with a broken back? In an Econoline?

You know, people always say that VW busses were great off road because the weight was evenly distributed front to back. My 12 passenger is 49/51 empty. I always hear complaints about the poor traction in stock Ford vans. I haven't experienced this at all. The VW's were likely better because they had IRS and no driveshaft to get hung up.

Well, there are different ways to break your back. I ruined one of my vertabraes. Number 4 I think? Anyway, they put 6 screws in me, fused 3-4-5 together and told me to be on my way. Well, maybe not that simple but I think its part of me just being active.....sometimes when your too active you do break your back though

Tucson's been getting some nice thunderstorms the last week, I need to find more places to get some lightning pictures.

But I agree, getting out of Tucson in the summer is almost a requirement.

    DJM68,

I see you have a sliding door also instead of the side barn doors. What is your opinion on that? I have the slider also and I really can't say which I like better but I'm perfectly happy with my slider. Glad I don't have to pick one though because it would drive me nuts trying to decide. I know that there has been plenty of dicussion on that topic
