Troy,
I did not here it run but I cant see doing that kind of custom unless it was diesel. Imagine the fuel mileage.

Just found an 04 AWD Astro with 43k miles on it. Has the locker rear (G80) and 3.73 gears. Hope to turn it into a mild dirt roadable overnighter.. Ordered small lift, shocks and a few other essentials, deliberating on tires/wheels. Maybe a hi/lo transfer case sometime in the future but the AWD worked so well in the snow today, I may have to think hard on that issue.

After giving up on my 2k Legacy wagon, we had to get a larger "travel vehicle" for our family road-trips so we got a 2011 Dodge Grand Caravan (I know, not 4wd and not camper-ized, but close enough, I think)
All she's got so far is a Heavy Duty roof rack, a hitch receiver and four-person RTT from Cascadia Vehicle Tents.
This is at the Redwoods state park, South of San Francisco.
This is during our trip, in Avneue of the Giants, Northern California
I figure this is expedition portal so this is about our expeditions, not just a specific vehicle. I would love to be able to make this a more expedition-safe vehicle but as things are right now...there is not much available for them.
(stiffer, maybe even taller springs, a more rugged wheel/tire combination, front-end and under-carriage protection)
In the meantime, I am working on making our 98 Pathfinder more expedition-ready, although I am not sure the wifey'll be happy with that...
