    Default Passed Technicians test

Now to get a radio and get it installed.

No 6 year old girls in the class, just me and two other guys. I think we all passed, I, he blushes, scored 100%, 2nd to finish missed 2 and the 3rd guy hadn't finished when I left for home.

Very simple process, we sat at tables in the VEC's backyard. Paid our 14 bucks and away we went. They even provided us with pens and pencils.

Think I'll go ahead and study a bit more and get my General license as well.
But first, gotta get on the air.

    Default Congratulations

I still remember the feeling, as it wasn't that long ago that I was in your shoes.

Great job. Now get on the air as soon as you get that call sign.

How much studying did you do?

I take the exam on the 13th and have been preparing using the practice exams on www.hamtestsonline.com. I have been scoring in the mid 80s on most of the exams, only having issues with the FCC rules.

I haven’t really ever studied for exams; I didn’t even study for the Engineer in Training Exam that I passed in '04. Should I be spending more time preparing? I had been planning on taking/passing the exam and then figuring out how everything works.

If you are passing the online test you will do fine on the paper test...
I would shoot for 90's online before i went to paper.

Now we can have more folks on the Expo Net..it is a great way to get used to using your radio, repeaters and talking...
Also I would recommend the little ARRL.org repeater book that can go in your glovebox, nice way to have all the repeaters in an area you will be in.
