Thread: 1972 suburban 4x4 one ton Cummins

Default 1972 suburban 4x4 one ton Cummins

NOT a trailer queen/show truck. This has been the family truckster for the past 12 years and has been diesel for the past 8 years. NOT a slow suburban either! I used to pull a 9000k toy hauler without issue. Tranny built to handle 800 hp and motor tweaked to about 300 hp.

I'm having trouble posting pics so here is a link...

Just curious, what kind of fuel mileage are you getting with it?

    Very nice BTW.

Wow! That x-ray of a broken leg looks horrible!
I hope the person attached to it healed up OK.

Oh, and please post more photos of the truck!

I tend to have a heavy foot so I average around 16 mpg. If I drove like gramps I could probably squeeze out 18.

I'll try and post up more pics tomorrow, warts and all.

Heh! you found the leg pics. That was my leg may 3rd of this year. Broke it hopping off a 6 foot wall and landed wrong. The fibula poked out the side. Unfrigginbelievable amount of pain. 20 units of morphine on site barely touched it. I was one month away from the rock and roll marathon in San Deigo and 30 hours away from an oral board interview with Tempe fire. I made the interview but didn't make the marathon!

Oh, and I was dressed up as Spiderman. I'll never live this down!
