Default Late fall on the Keweenaw

Just got back last night from a 2 night trip up to the Keweenaw for the last hurrah of the good fall weather. Myself and my girlfriend Katie had a few goals. Take in some paddling, some mountainbiking on Copper Harbor's world class single track, spectate some of the Lake Superior Pro Rally as it passed through Copper Harbor, and generally just take in the last of the color as fall starts to get cold. I put together a little video of some photos and video clips that I'll post here now, and follow up with some pictures a bit later. We camped both nights at one of my favorite places anywhere, and the location of our UP Overland's August camp. Anyway, here's some vid...

Getting ready for some breakfast Sunday morning.

Frost was covering everything that morning despite our proximity to Lake Superior ~20 yards or so. The mist off the calm waters was surreal.

Paddling on Schlatter Lake out near the tip of the peninsula.

Saturday evening, again, all to ourselves at camp.

*keep telling myself that it's ok we missed our UP trip this year*

Great photos, sweet 80 & camp set-up, perfect serene spot. Love the silhouettes and water shots. Glad to hear Katie has moved up to gf status.

No problem, hope you can make it back over this way again! Did you ever organize a run in Northern Minnesota this fall?

Oh, and the other thing I was going to mention to the Up Overlanders is that the views with the leaves being off the trees is pretty cool. For example, on the approach to Mt Houghton, you can actually see it quite a ways away, vs in the summer with the leaves you end up at it without ever seeing it on the way in. Also from the top of it there are 360 degree views now vs just off the east side. The leaves really change the nature of the scenery.
