    Default Local Wildlands Volunteer Opportunies

Last spring I was asked to help extract a group of volunteers removing Tamarisk from Piru Creek and got on their mailing list. I recently received an email of their Fall schedule and got to thinking that perhaps a thread listing these various groups might be a good idea, maybe even worthy of sticky-dom if enough links to other organizations get posted.

The group that I helped is called HabitatWork (Habitatwork.org) and they work in the northern Los Angles area mountains. I encourage folks to visit their pages and see what they're about.

And please, post links to worthy groups that you know of or work with already.
I used to swerve around my hallucinations, now I drive right through them.

This looks like a really cool organization. If I lived there, I'd be working with them. Thanks for the link.

That is a worthy cause and something I may consider. I love the Piru drainage area. I have spent many days kayaking all stretches of that creek, it would be great to reduce the Tamarisk there.
