Is there an ECR for Broncos

I have an acquaintance that is in possession of a 1970 Bronco. In an effort to steer him in a helpful direction for his restoration, I was wondering if any of the EXPO members might know of a company that specializes in Bronco restorations similar to ECR for Rovers.

I dont know names off the top of my head, but there are many in the backs of the four wheeler magazines like Jeffs bronco graveyard and such?

I used to own a 1974 Ranger series bronco, wish I would have never sold it, worth alot now! But I love my 83' BJ42 RHD even more!

I've been a member of the Early Bronco (EB) community since mid 1997. There have been some not so great rumors about RockyRoads within the EB community. I'd do a thorough investigation before committing there.

The first company that I would recommend for major work on a Bronco of either size would be West Coast Broncos: http://www.westcoastbronco.com/. They manufacture a significant amount of the product that the other EB parts houses sell. The co-owners, John & Dusty are both stand-up folks, each with a lot of EB experience.

Home of the pre-eminent national email list and has a forum as well:

I'll admit to being biased towards "B'Fix" for it's general tolerance of tomfoolery and sense of community.

The most well known EB forum:

"CB" as it is known, IMO, tends to be somewhat low-brow, but does have a large audience and, once sifted through, a lot of info.

TLC 4X4 Van Nuys, California

TLC 4X4 is the one of the best restoration shops in the country. They are artisans like ECR. They can restore your Bronco to perfection. Call Jonathan Ward at 818-785-2200. I'm sure he would be glad to discuss your needs.

Let me clarify, I don't and can't vouch for Rocky Roads. I know nothing about them. They just seem to have a lot of eye candy.

When I had a '71, I bought a few bits from James Duff, and a few more from Wild Horses. Both had good stuff, from my experience.

That said, for the money that any high end resto-mod runs, you can probably do anything yourself, or basically be a general contractor to a bunch of good subs. Early Bronco's aren't rocket science. They share a bunch of parts with Mustangs and trucks of the same vintage. There are a ton of parts and updates available, and they're every bit as cool as old Landcruisers.

Get that guy on ExPo- I want to watch the resto!

Not sure it's quite the same thing, but there are a few Ford (and old iron) specialist houses. ECR is more of an overlanding place, right? If so, these places aren't quite the same (it's just not a big market, as you know), but they will help keep an old Bronco or F100 Ranger or something on the road, which is half the battle.

I did not think that you were. I just wanted to add a caution as their reputation outside of the EB community may not be known.
