I have been flyfishing for about eight years and enjoy all aspects of it. I mostly dabble in salt due to the proximity but really enjoy my old creeks in Texas with those nice big ol bass in them!

A couple of weeks ago my father in law did took a guide trip for blues. The rig was a 12wt and a large streamer. The sharks were difficult to get interested in the fly but once they did....game on! This guy was in the 100lb class.

I don't fly much, mainly fish creekz in AZ with a small spinning rod. But I did fly the San Juan in February. Can't wait to go back.

    7wt,

Shark on the fly - now that's cool!

I don't have any pics of Salmon caught on a fly, but it did remind me of this. This was the first saltwater fish my wife ever caught - an ugly but very tasty Ling caught off the coast of Prince Rupert.

Growing up in TX I learned to fly fish for bluegills on their spawning beds. Using a slow sinking sponge bug I have caught over 50 in a couple of hours. My game was not a fraction of the size of yours, but none the less, great fun and filleted out and fried up wonderful eating.

That must have been a great time hooking and fighting that shark!
