Default Hub swap on a M series trailer

Alright while trailers aren't new to me the vintage ones could be a little different. Say I had a M series trailer and it had Land Rover 5 lug and I anted to swap for 6 on 5.5, how easy is this to accomplish or would I be better off running hub adapters. I will be running 285 or 295 tires on the trailer so some wheel spacers will most likely be necessary.

I would be interested in the rover hubs if you do remove them.

x2. Trailer axles are silly cheap, and you can have them made to fit.

That is cool. I looked at the rims and it looked so much like a Rover pattern (but slightly smaller holes for the lug nuts). I figured as much.. This is what was on my '67 M416....
