My 99 GV

Hey guys, this is definitely still in progress, but with my new bumper on I finally feel able to throw up some picks of my GV.

Still working a rear bumper to carry some jerry cans, some additional lighting, and maybe some custom storage in the back. With 150,000 kilometers on her, she should be good to go for a while.

First camping trip of the season definitely tested my setup. We got 40mm of rain and thunderstorms with 60km/h winds. Rock solid through the whole thing.

I started putting this rig together in late November. I purchased this '91, running but not drivable.
We pulled and replaced the top end, water pump, assorted hoses and lines. Added 2” lift and some 235 tires I found on Craigslist.

Sidekicks are the cheapest 4x4 fun you can find!

Looks great! Does it tilt back to put the roof up and down or is the operation of the soft top unhindered by the rack?

Just put on a new roof rack. It's a BajaRack Mule basket, Calmini roof rails, Thule 450 Crossroads feet, and Inno 58" crossbars. Also threw a wet of WARN Premium hubs on.

I do lose the "sunroof" feature (tilting the forward back back). I can take the top off completely if I want, but I usually just end up taking out the side and rear windows.

Man, that thing is a gem!! Looks like it's un-molested too. You just don't find them like that much anymore.

Glad it's on the wrong coast. I'd have to explain to my wife why I need a fourth one...

If you get a chance, we'd love to see some pics of the interior!!

I guess it's more or less done. Stock everything except 3" SUA, 1" shackles, 4.16 gears, Sky OTS stage 1, 31" tires, and of course the goofy thing on the back.

Cost me $9.00 a month for insurance. Pop top camper (not finished yet), sink, stove, 10g water tank, toilet, etc. Family camper mobile and daily driver when the canyons are "4x4 or chains only".
