I thought I'd post a couple more pictures of my truck now that it has it's bigger tyres fitted. Didn't want to go too mad so went with a set of 235/75 15 mud terrains. These were taken on a local off road site, where the truck performed flawlessly:

A couple of weekends ago I took it for a weekend away wild camping with friends in the mountains in Wales. Had a great time, and the truck was awesome:

Hi everyone, I´m from Czech Rep., Prague (Europe) and i own samurai since 2007. I bought it in Holland (NL) and my first expedition was to bring it home (1000 km thru Germany highway). It was really nice shape car but there's always something to fix on suzuki. So, since than im just repairing and wheeling and repairing and wheeling and repeat as necessary.
Only upgrade i made is carb switch and tires BFG M/T KM2 215/75R15. It's just enough to enjoy fun in a woods and still be able to go anywhere on the road. I forgot to mention that my samurai was made in 1992 in Spain, special edition for dutch market. It is equipped with carb though this year it was not common. Diferent brakes, electric, and drive shafts.

Here's mine -

I still have a few more things to do before I can consider it finished.

I would like to build a small trailer to haul a roof mount tent and related camping gear.

Seeing pics of newer GV's makes it so tempting to pick one up this year during the Suzuki goodbye-sales. Every single time I drive my dad's '13 GV I'm surprised at what such a nice little truck it is. I was SUPER impressed with how it towed my dad's 2500lb, 22' boat. So much truck for the money. Just can't see myself ever giving up the SX4 after all the work I've done to it. And I can't give up the MPG's either.

Here are some more of the SX4 in camping mode on the last trip of the year. It may look warm in the photo, but I can assure you it was not.

Here's my little Jimny, not much done to the mechanicals, just a lift kit but a lot of goodies to make life more comfortable in the bush.

32246.jpg
Finished job with lift kit.

32209.jpg
Sheltered living space, if camping we use a tent.

32225.jpg
UHF radio extension speaker behind head.

32227.jpg
Front of the box behind the seats showing 2nd battery, fold down table and map storage.

32228.jpg
The map storage wound up being used for a fire extinguisher, inverter and CD storage.

32223.jpg
The fold down table deployed. Used to hold drinks etc when having a quick snack on the side of the road.

32222.jpg
Back of the box with small table, storage, fridge, water outlet, solar regulator, gauges, 240V power point, etc.

32221.jpg
Top of the box.

32229.jpg
Voltage-sensitive changeover relay for the second battery.

32230.jpg
12v compressor in engine bay.

In an 850x650x900mm box (plus down the sides in between the unit and the car) we've managed to fit...

Recovery gear
Tirfor winch
Steel cable
30m plasma extension cable
Equalizing strap
Tree protector
Bow shackles
Snatch block

Tools
Small tool kit
Electric rattle gun
Air line for compressor
Extension air line
Wheel chocks
Folding shovel
Scissor jack
Bottle jack
Jacking plate
Puncture repair kit

Power
60w solar panel
Regulator
100AH 12v deep cycle battery
300w inverter
Amp and Volt panel meters
12v outlets
240v outlet

60-litre water tank

30-litre Waeco drawer fridge

Camping gear
2-man tent
Rear shelter canopy
2 x self-inflating mattresses
2 x folding chairs
Table
Bag of clothes
Bedding
Towels

Cooking
1-burner cook top
5 x spare gas bottles
Crockery/cutlery/pans etc
Food for a week or so

Misc
2 x pairs of walking boots
Fire extinguisher
Fold out table between seats at the front
Fold out table at the rear
Tie-down loops to secure top loads
Collapsible bucket

And there's still plenty of room on top of the unit for shopping, backpacks, jerry cans, gas bottles etc according to the needs of the day.
