Default is a LR for me?

    Hey ExPo folks

I currently have a 91 Toy truck single cab 4x4.. though I love it, I have to sell it cause I am to big, I am 6'3" and the single cab is not enough
Anyway, I lived in Germany for 18 years, know Land Rovers, know what they can do from Camel Trophy's and know how bad they reputation is state side.
I will look for a new rig to purchase soon ( probably within the next 4 months ) and just wanted some input as far as the LR's go. how reliable are they, what is the one to buy?
I love the looks of them, and their capability.

Let me know if my post made any sense.

    Phil

Phil - just a thought, but at 5'10" I remember having issues with how low the windshield was in my '95 discovery. Made it very hard to see stoplights and street signs. Loved the vehicle and just almost bought another one, but this is something that would only be made worse by your extra half foot.

As with any used vehicle purhcase, buying a well cared for example is key. Find one with a solid maintenace history and get a good PPI. Search around on here, there are quite a few threads about purchasing a Land Rover.

Post up pictures when you get one!

    Default Hijack in progress...

Sorry about this, but it is in my head.

BKCowGod, every time I read a post by you, I think of this song.

An '04 Discovery II would be a great way to go. They can still be found with low miles and a warranty. The price is still down from the gas price debacle a few months ago.

Try one out and see if your height works with it.

    thanks for all the responses..

I didn't think that LR suffers from the same problems as so many other cars I drove lol.. Figured, seeing how the Brit's are tall, that it would be made to hold my tall MMM lol. Oh well, I will let you guys know how it goes.

im 6'4", and the defender LR's fit tight. they remind me of vehicles designed in the 60's. small cockpit in relation to size. its one of the straws that finally pushed the sale of my d110. leaning towards the middle of the truck bowlegged for 4 hours gets tiring.
