quick question re Sure Power isolator

My understanding is that the alternator adjusts the elvel of charging based on the amount of discharge of the battery. I plan on having a dual battery setup with the aux battery powering all of the aux items.

So, once the aux is discharged deeply, the starting battery will still be full. Since the alternator sensor is on the starting battery, my aux won't be charged that fast, i.e. maybe a trickle charge.

Would a Surepower (besides its isolating qualities), also sense the voltage on the aux and charge it accordingly? Or does it merely isolate?

The model I am looking at is the Surepower 13023A, which I believe has an alternator input. That leads me to believe that it does sense both batteries. Please enlighten me. Thank you.
