    Default Front Axle swap

Hey fellow Rover buddies. I have a 1996 Discovery 1. My Front Axle has gone boom and I think the Cv joint is gone too as I have a hard time turning right. I haven't been driving the truck. I'm going to buy some replacement axles and Cv's but my question is the swap a easy task. I have Steel wheels so the flange is right there.

I'm new to this but want to learn

Is it just a straight pull and push back in or requires some extensive work

    Thank you very much!

    J-man,

Do you have the parts already? If not, I might have some spare stockers to get you by.

    it's cake!

I swapped out the stock diff, shafts, and CV's for the GBR stuff and it didn't take long at all. It would have been less time too if I wasn't such a damn perfectionist! I wanted everything clean/torqued, and perfect!

I'd help yah if you didn't live so far away... your truck would probably fit in the garage!

Its REAL easy man. You'll need the big 2-1/16th hub nut socket (avl thru RN). You can remove the hub/rotor as one and then you need to remove the stub axle. After that, you can pull the CV and axle out. Hope this write up helps...

I have the 24 spline stuff out of a 1995 RRC LWB. I believe it should fit, might want to check on that though.

Geez, dude, I remember you pulling your stocker truck into my driveway years ago to swap out the springs, now look at it! Looking good!
