Default Mexico/Central America trip in Sept.

    Hey there,
I am planning a trip through Mexico as well as hitting all 7 countries of Central America. I plan on leaving some time in September (flexible) and returning sometime near the end of November. I will be doing this solo, so I would like to get in touch with as many people as I can who are headed my way. I would like to join up with fellow travelers for portions of the trip if at all possible. Also if you have any recommendations on must see places it would be greatly appreciated.

    Default september you say?

I would highly recommend going to San Pancho, Mex in September. The small little town is north of PV and on the sea of crotez. Monsoon season is just about to start and the tourists are gone. My wife and I go down there that time of year and volunteer with a sea turtle rescue program. This year we are thinking of trailering our motos down to san diego and riding the bikes down to La Paz...taking the ferry to Mazatlan and down to San Pancho!

love to hook up and hear about your journey

Hey Kyle, that is a super trip but aren't you a bit short on time to see all 7 countries in 3 months...you could spend a month in each and not see everything each has to offer. Border crossings might take a bit longer than you think some might be hours, while others might be days. What about rig problems, which might take a few hours to weeks. Just a thought having spent considerable time in Mexico and Costa Rica. Also consider the language factor if you are not quite fluent.

I would love to be able to spend a year venturing through central america, but unfortunately I am not able to take more than 4 months off work and not to mention the $$$. I do know my way around baja pretty well, although I am not fluent in spanish and have 4 years of classes under my belt and feel confident I can get around fine.

mcgovski- I also plan on taking the ferry from La Paz, do you have any links to where I can get more info on pricing and such... once I have a general route Ill let you know and we could meet up at some point.

we took my one ton across last september...i think it was about $40 usd. the schedule was not very reliable, but hey...we got across. I had no idea what it was going to cost until we got there. I was prepared to pay way more. I almost passed out when I went to get on the ferry from anacortes, wa to orcas island...$250
