back from my 2008 hiatus

Well, I promised Mike I would be back to update you guys over here on the portal.... Ill reintroduce myself since its been so long....
The names Ruben, Im from San Angelo Texas, and wouldnt have it any other way. :sombrero: native Texican. I have an 05' KC Frontier SE 4x2. When people ask I always say "if im not hunting im fishing...and if im not fishing im hunting." :coffee:
So new mods for 2009 include: external water tank, 2" body lift, and rock sliders. Articulate's write up is pretty much how I found this place. And I wont be duplicating his set up, but great minds do think alike. Ill let the pics do the rest of the talking since thats where its at anyway......

Im doing that 2" DIY body lift, that Penski and ThaRule did over on clubfrontier.... It should be done by next weekend, ill post pics before and after.

I actually decided to do it for looks but also that external water tank thats going under the bed will also gain 2" on clearance.... its all gonna work out nice.

The hood scoop is a fiberglass slap on from 4x4 parts that I modified to make functional. not standard but there is a handful of trucks with one, and I actually seen a copy cat here in town but not online.

cool

Do you know Automotive Customizers (4x4 parts) now has a 2" BL for our trucks @ $200?

I was going to do the diy but, given my lack of frabricating skills and overall laziness, I am just going to buy the kit.

how did you mount/attach the second bar over the roof to support your basket? If you used cips inside the extended cab windiws i am very interested.

Yah by functional I mean for engine cooling purposes. I was directing cold air into my intake box, and found that trucks ECU are much smarter than me. it decided that now it was receiving more air and would change my Air/fuel ratio and only got around 11mpg during the winter time. Eventually Ill be able to afford a tuner and try again. untill then its just keeping the underhood operating temps down in this west Texas heat.

as for my basket, it's custom fabbed...no fancy anything, just bolted to the roof on four legs with 2 bolts at each leg.

That's the exact same reason that I was contemplating the mod. Heck I already have holes in the fender from the snorkel.
