Here's another "more than an A/T, less than an M/T" tire I recently found while looking for tires for my expedition trailer. They appear to be a Canadian Tire exclusive which is strange. Anybody know anything about them, or ever seen this tread before?

I wanted to get a set of Cooper Discoverer S/T's for my trailer to match what's on the truck, but it seems they're not available anymore. At least in Canada.

So, instead I find these:

235/75/15 for $165 CDN. It would cost me more to have 3 tires shipped TireRack. And I'm talking... Less than a set of Kumho A/T's. So, they're a good price.

It's too bad about the Maxx Traction, I was in a seminar yesterday and we learned they are discontinuing this model. Goodyear as a whole is narrowing their overall lineup of tires, everything from passenger and light truck, to the medium truck stuff, and even "Off The Road" which is the loader/mining equipment type stuff. They are changing their marketing strategy somewhat, and are stremlining things, reducing overlap, etc.

Out here in good 'ole Alberta, the Maxx Traction was substituted in the market place as a winter tire option for a lot of 3/4 and 1-ton pickup trucks running the larger rims, 18's and 20's. There's not many options in winter tires with 10-ply rated tires built to fit on the larger rims that the newer P/U's are equipped with from the factory.
The Maxx Traction has the snowflake rating on the side; while not a true winter tire, it is one of the best options out there.
So, if there is a similar Canadian Tire branded model, it likely has very similar compounds that provide good winter traction - headdamage's post.

Ok, I'll get off my tire stand now.
