I first discovered this Forum last year. It inspired me to take on a project myself. I found a 1976 Alaskan 8' NCO for a good price and I took it straight to the Alaskan factory and had Bryan look it over. He fixed me up with the new weather seal and new O-rings for the hydraulics. We (my wife and I) got the new weather seal attached to the lower section, working from the inside, and replaced the O-rings and took off for a one week camping trip. Had a great time! My wife fell in love with our camper and is my work partner on our restoration project. We just got the halves separated and are about to begin work on our top half, probably similar to what Keeno had to do to his. The bottom half of ours is in good shape structurally. I just had to review this Forum post with all the pictures and great comments... and now... we start our project! Thanks for inspiring us with confidence Keeno! Jim-Bob

May I ask how much you paid for your Alaskan?

Hi there, I am considering a rebuild of an 8' NCO 1963 (I think) and find the information on this board VERY helpful. Thank you.

Just curious if you had to do some reinforcement to the back of your camper when you secured your LP tank or if you just bolted through the existing 1/2" plywood and skin. Looks really good but I would be concerned about the weight.

    thanks,

    Chris
