Default 29 May '09 - Maid in the Shade's Flight

Friday was a great day: After 28 years in restoration, the Arizona Wing CAF's North American B-25J 'Mitchell' bomber took flight at Falcon Field in Mesa, AZ. Now named 'Maid in the Shade' this B-25 is a combat veteran of WWII, having flown 15 missions against the axis out of Corsica in 1944.

If you were at Butcher Jones Saturday you likely saw her numerous times throughout the morning. I was fortunate enough to have painted the Nose Art on her in '04

In the sun as B-17G 'Sentimental Journey' turns #3 and #4 beyond.

Turning #2 first as SJ makes a fly-by beyond. SJ was departing to head out on Summer Tour.

Rolling on 4R. Just about to rotate.
