    Default 2012 Paddle Trip

    7397717636_f1cc9c8870_m.jpg7058851787_534094938d_m.jpg

We took the ferry to Sitka and paddled home to Juneau in early June. 225 miles in 10 days -- and a few of those were just morning paddles because of afternoon wind and seas. Will head north on the Dempster later this month. Now, if I can load a few images....

    Default White water canoe school

We're taking a small group on a 12 day trip on the Salmon River (Idaho) this fall. One of the teams had to recuit a new comer. With no canoe experience we required he attend a three day course with Canoe West on the Middle Fork of the Kalmath River (Northern California). Neil & Tom are excellent teachers, so I and my canoe partner came along for a refresher course.

Here the newbees are on a class 2 rapid (open canoe) with only three days experience in a canoe. I was pleased and impressed with their progress.

Special thanks to Niel & Tom for their patience and skills in teaching.

    Thanks,
    Fred
