    Default Cheap Cherokee mods...

    I love small simple mods.

Post up ExPo related Idea's for our overland wagons. I'd personally
love to see mods related to having the rear seat in use, with kids
in the back, but anything goes.

    p.s. didn't see a thread for cherokee's yet, re-direct me if needed.

I really liked my cargo area divider until I started sleeping in the jeep on solo trips. I could fit under it easily enough, but getting dressed/undressed was really cramped.

Aren't you afraid that shovel will fall down and chop off your manhood while you're sleeping??

I'm also trying to figure out a way to fit tools/straps/etc in a tucked away spot. I might utilize something behind the front seat/bolted down possibly.

I like the way the Conservation 60 used two panel replacement boxes, and a tailgate box for storing simple handtools, flashlights and tow straps. Made by a company called wagongear.com

The shifter thing and cable from a bike shop $20
The look on peoples face when they realize that I have a thumb throttle- Priceless

For what ever resin people seem to think this is a hard and expensive mod. You mount the shifter the stick (manual or auto) and then run the cable to down through the boots. They will flex out of the way, no cutting needed. Secure it away from the exhaust using zip ties.
I removed my cruse control stuff because it did not work anyways.
The cable is then attached to the throttle control using the space that the cruse was using. I looped it over and then using a small cable clamp that I got at the bike shop clamped the cable.
If anyone is interested I can take more picks of the routing and cable.

A real fire extinguisher mounted up out of the way and easy to get at.

For light that is easy to grab.

Today I lined the floor with foam pads like these

I need to redo it though, because I realized that the best method would have been to end the puzzle edge where the seatback folds down, then attach another piece to the top of the bench. That way, when the bench is folded down, the interlocking edge could be snapped together

I made it. Very easy using Home Depot steel & a welder (any will do for this small project).
