:sombrero: Please don't think I'm Hi-jacking, cause this is for YOU

If you insulate your hard top, (inside) you can ALLOW the AC to do a good job, besides keeping it 15/30-% cooler and 25/50% quieter inside

It can be done cheaply and looks fairly cheap, unless you're expert on auto interior, or

"off road heroes" makes a JK hardtop kit with Velcroed and fitted sew'n edges, plus, JC Whitney has auto, thermal-acustic "shinny side" insulation and "sticky Stuff" spray adhesive

My wife really enjoys the hiwy access trips now, because it's cool and she can use her cell phone, with no PROBLEMO and off-road with the windows down, it's COOL

OK, I'm done-cheers

Nice. I hadn't given that (or many other useful ideas) any thought whatsoever. I shall investigate further. A happy wife is a happy wife..

What kind of rack are you using? I'm looking for something and haven't really seen anything that floats my boat. I'm also on a budget, but could probably spring for something if push were to come to shove...

They're not cheap, but are SUBSTANCIAL and will support in excess of 500 lbs, I've seen the one I'm actually using, with over 700lbs on it

The cardboard, is actually a template, for drilling the hardtop to attach the INSIDE tub supports

Day 4 Part 1

If this is day 4, it must be Tuesday (or some such nonsense)...

Again we rise with the late-risers, hit City Market for bagels, coffee and petrol and follow our bliss up the road to Blue Hills (I think) Road.. Today's destination of destinations is Tusher Tunnel and maybe some other stuff then some other other stuff if there's time and we haven't throttled each other by then..

568907062_mFNTa-XL.jpg

Lots of overcast today, which means it's either going to rain at some point or it's not..

After mostly clay and rocky track, sand becomes the major roadway component in the vicinity of Tusher Tunnel.. Some of it can be kind of deep, but mostly it's just a lot of fun to drive on..

Pretty cool. I don't know if camping is allowed, but it would be an incredible place to spend the night I would think. Of course, that goes for an infinite number of little nooks and crannies out here, but I digress..

Tracy's shooting the D300 and I'm shooting a Canon EOS 50D. I've got slightly better glass, but otherwise the results are remarkably similar. I've thrown in a few of her shots in prior posts (and will continue to do so), and will leave it to you to figure out which ones they are.. :)

John-
Good call. I often can't with my monitor. I was in no way indicating your photos were substandard...they are quite the contrary. I love to see how people will photograph some of my most favorite areas of the desert...often in ways I could never expect to.

Anxious to see more...

Oh, I didn't take it that way at all! It's just so close to the 50D in every aspect that composition is often the only way to tell who shot what.

I'd never been to Moab prior to this trip. I will definitely return at every opportunity. Beautiful country!
