    Default GPS for APRS

I have a Lowrance 540c mounted in the Jeep. It has an empty NMEA port on the back. Does anyone know where I can get a cable (or have the wiring diagram that I could make a cable out of an existing Lowrance cable) that would have a 9 pin serial attachment?

Plan B would be to use my handheld PN-20. Can it be configured to send NMEA-0183 data?

I've been doing research on APRS as well. If you're still looking for cables I found some here http://www.argentdata.com/catalog/
